11 Best Sitcoms of the 2000s - 11Points.com
I share your rage not only against spelling errors, but against people who throw around the word "socialism". I couldn't even count how many times I've heard Obama called a "Marxist socialist". Of course, when you point out that Marxism is communism and not socialism, people's eyes just glaze over because they have no idea that there is a difference between the 2.
2 final thoughts before I turn into a crazy political rambler:
-Why do people (Republicans) care so much about what language immigrants speak? For a political party that supposedly is against strong, authoritative government, they seem to be greatly in favor of policing peoples' lives.
-Why do people consider universal health care a scary socialist policy, but consider universal police protection and education standard democracy? (That's a rhetorical question; it's because they're idiots.)
I made the same general comment about the marxism/socialism difference earlier. Glad to see someone else understands.
About your 2 thoughts:
I don't think it's about the language, it's more about the whole "close the borders" thing. Just one more supporting argument for their cause. Republicans are so far away from what they were in the Thomas Jefferson era it makes me sick. They no longer advocate for strong state governments and lessening the power of the federal government. They should do us all a favor and officially change their party name to something else, because what they want is very far from a republic. Democrats of course want the largest and most over-reaching federal government they possibly can create, and police peoples lives in more indirect ways. They treat them like sheep that cannot think for themselves, and some can't. Unfortunately in modern society natural selection doesn't exist anymore, and these people haven't faded out of the gene pool.
Just two cents from a raging Libertarian.
Democrats are split too, but the split exists between 1. an elite class of the educated which cares about the welfare of the country not by protecting a certain way of life, but by protecting ALL ways of life and 2. otherwise self-interested conservatives who are NOT part of the mainstream white christian culture. This is why the appeal of monetary redistribution appeals to democrats -- the party is composed of 90% selfish traditional conservatives who feel out-competed by mainstream white culture and just want their cut, and 10% people who think that this lopsided situation is unfair and that mediation needs to take place between the different cultures to give each one a fair chance to survive. Hippies are the exact same way, in fact. some of them are extremely intelligent and highly moral and their message is "care for everyone by destroying the oppressive system" , and some just want to live a rule-free lifestyle because they're selfish, and their message is "enable my childish behavior by destroying the oppressive system". It can be hard to distinguish between the two because they both oppose tradition and conformity but for vastly different reasons.
it is totally unfair to say that both parties are split in the same way. republicans come from either power or tradition to preserve their dominant culture and democrats come from either empathy or culturally comparative jealousy to break up the old boys' game and give everyone a fair shot.
:-)
I think the guy is against whoever is the most social; hence he is against the "Socialest" person.
I'm sure you've realized by now, I'm pretty opinionated (i.e. my ridiculous rant on which form of soda is the best), and I accept this. It's probably the main reason i stand atop the political diamond with my middle finger up to both the left and the right while crapping on the socialists at the bottom (even though I agree that socialism is being thrown under the bus by everyone these days, if Obama is anything besides a liberal he is a Marxist, which is different from a Socialist). But in order to crap on said Socialists, i need my butt to be perfectly level with a cheek resting on both conservatives and liberals.
Anyway, I hope this is just a precursor to a list that equally slams liberals. If not, it's your blog, and you're totally free to take whatever side you want, I just pictured you as someone who doesn't pull any punches when addressing a subject matter. Because that would be a very Fox News thing to do.

Are right-wingers more likely to make spelling mistakes?
OR
Are we more likely to notice and report mistakes when made by right-wingers?
Or both?
one, left-wing sign with an ironic spelling mistake. I could not find one. I
found a your/you're switch on a gay marriage sign but it wasn't ironic...
and that was it. I would've loved to include one.

I suggest you just scroll through zombietime.
The irony indeed, cigarette. Wanting to be political and overly concerned is solely the ground of the right and certainly you leftists aren't fanned by any "farts" of the moveon.org type....
Still, if I ever go to a protest I'm spelling my sign wrong, definitely more likely to be noticed.
Still--I agree with you---whomever is responsible DID create a major gaffe.
Not political per se, but still cringe-worthy in terms of sign mistakes

Easily my favorite list so far. Keep up the good work, kind Sir.
intellectually honest you would have shown signs from both sides of the
political spectrum making for a fair and balanced posting as apposed to the
biased nuance you made. I was hoping for something other than the Jon
Stewart political bias from your web site, that's all.
youth getting their political news from sources like Mr. Stewart... I find
his humor somewhat uneven. I grew up with the original Saturday night Live'
cast that attacked everyone from all political persuasions.
They attacked every one equally. You laughed because you found truth in the
humor. Listening to Mr. Stewart makes my skin crawl. Though I have to give
him credit for attacking the MSM for their obvious attempt at protecting
ACORN. If he were to Attack Obama with the same joy as he did when attacking
Bush, then I may listen to him again. After all the screw ups Obama has made
the material would be never ending. But He knows that if he attacks Obama
his career would be over. It's not like integrity matters anymore.
opinions, with a continuous bombardment of one way 'anti messages' for the
sake of making someone look bad without giving the other side a fair shot to
respond, knowing the audience has a predisposition towards the target due to
a social and politically engineered mindset. Feeding the frenzy of emotional
imbalance for the sake of indoctrination. You know...that old chestnut.
is this going to end up in some web page? lol
conservative bias. Funny how that works. I dated a doctor once who never saw
a healthy person either. She saw something wrong with everyone. (Like a bad
Seinfeld episode) Did she see everyone's illness on a compassionate, level
or was it because she was trained to? There in lies, what I believe, the
difference between conservatives and liberal mindsets.
